How to Become a Christian

Having believed in Jesus Christ, confess Him to others.

Christ demands that we make public profession of our faith without fear or shame (Mathew 10:32-33; Romans 5:9-10) and to help others to come to know Him. (Mather 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Admit to God that you are a sinner in need of salvation.

The Bible says that each of us is a sinner and that we are incapable of saving ourselves (Romans 3:10-12, 23; Ephesians 2:1-3). We must be willing to admit our sinfulness and confess to God that we have failed to obey Him. We must ask Him to save us from our sin and freely receive His forgiveness (1 John 1:9).

Because of His death, burial and resurrection, believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and your personal Savior.

The Bible calls us to faith in Jesus Christ alone. "Faith" does not refer simply to factual knowledge about Jesus, but to personal confidence in and commitment to Him (Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 2:8-9). He calls us to know Him as one person knows another. It is impossible for us to be saved from sin and reach heaven any other way. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
